Trailer: THE WITCH

A Sundance Film Festival alum, the Witch trailer looks pretty terrifying and reminds us of the nature of successful indie horrors this year like the Babadook and It Follows.

Set in New England, 1630, the story follows William and Katherine: two devout homesteaders with 5 children and living right on the edge of a wild, dark forest. Things start to get crazy when their newborn son mysteriously vanishes, their crops fail, and suddenly, the tight-knit family begins to turn on one another.

Written and directed by Robert Eggers, the film stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson (Guardians of the Galaxy, Kingsman: The Secret Service), and Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones).

No need to hold your breath for this just yet, as it releases in 2016!

Does this look scary or like a Blair Witch ripoff? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
