Writing about the procedure and her decision to go through with the surgery in her New York Times op-ed that was released today, Angelina talks candidly about deciding to go through with the procedure despite a lack of initial evidence of cancer. Given her family history (her mother, grandmother, and aunt have all passed away because of the disease), Angelina and her doctors decided that putting her through the forced menopause caused by the surgery was more than worth the peace of mind that the operation with bring her and her family.
We’re happy to say that the surgery was a complete success, and our thoughts are with the Jolie Pitt family as they get through this difficult time.
